Sony has announced today at its pre-TGS press conference that it will be releasing a new model of the PlayStation 3.
The new model is 25% smaller and 20% lighter than the current PS3 (itself a redesign from the original version), and will come in two flavours: 250GB and 500GB. It’ll also be available in two colours, white and black.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is an online first-person shooter developed by Valve Corporation and Hidden Path Entertainment, who also maintained Counter-Strike: Source after its release. It is the fourth game in the Counter-Strike franchise, excluding Counter-Strike Neo and Counter-Strike Online.
Global Offensive was released on 21 August 2012 and made available for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, Xbox 360 via the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation 3 via PlayStation Network. It features classic content, such as old maps, as well as brand new maps, characters and game modes. It supports matchmaking and leaderboards. An Elo rating system prioritizes matching players by skill.
Sony’s PS Vita launched in December 2011 in Japan, and in late-February elsewhere in the world. There’s also a WiFi-only model for those with an aversion to data contracts.
