Samsung recently officially announced the availability of the Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8. Details of price for the player were however still undisclosed as of today, but we expect to hear more about it soon.
The Samsung Galaxy Player 5.8 is a portable media player with a screen size half an inch more as compared to the Samsung Galaxy Note. It comes with a 5.8-inch, 960-by-540-pixel LCD screen, which is larger than its predecessors, the Galaxy Player 3.6, 4, 4.2, and 5.0. The newest Player also comes equipped with front-facing speakers, 1GB RAM, the choice of 16GB or 32GB of storage, as well as pre-installed educational content.
It runs on Google Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and the device’s 2,500mAh battery compensates for its low display resolution, compared to the Galaxy S III smartphone’s 4.8-inch, 1280-by-720-pixel Super AMOLED HD screen.
The new portable media player also comes equipped with Bluetooth 4.0, a microSD card, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, and GPS support.
The front speaker grill is a nice addition, which is the main thing that distinguishes the Galaxy Player 5.8 from the Galaxy S3.
As we all know, this device doesn’t have phone capabilities but its huge screen is sufficient for multimedia playing such as watching movies and other videos. Gadget-savvy Filipinos will be interested in owning this device even though it is quite large and is almost already close to the tablet territory. As anyone familiar with the trends in gadget technology would advice, if intentions are meant to make this one of your new portable multimedia player, better not think twice and just buy it if it is sufficient to your needs otherwise you’ll be undecided if you think of the plethora of new devices coming soon.
